The diamond laser scalpel (DLS) is our newest state of the art tool for rapid recovery surgeries. This instrument is composed of a diamond blade forty times sharper than a conventional steel scalpel that simultaneously uses carbon dioxide laser energy to control bleeding and bruising as the incision is made. The DLS is able to incise tissue with much less drag and pull then any conventional steel scalpel, eliminating the tearing and crushing that occurs with traditional surgeries at the microscopic level. Because of this reduction in bleeding, tissue damage, swelling, and operative time, there is a much faster onset of the healing phase, as well as, reduced pain and bruising, all of which leads to dramatically improved surgical results.

Where we find our greatest advantage is in using the DLS for all of our facial rejuvenative procedures. In particular, the combination of a DLS blepharoplasty (eyelid rejuvenation) and Active FX skin rejuvenation are the perfect complement as both procedures have a “downtime” of just a long weekend.
